Senior Data Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain the core data models and transformation pipelines that power Workforce Analytics. The role focuses on turning raw, ingested data into clean, analytics‑ready datasets in Snowflake using Coalesce.io.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain data transformation pipelines in Coalesce.io and develop analytics‑ready models in Snowflake (headcount, attrition, recruiting pipelines).
• Model complex workforce and HR datasets, handling effective‑dated data, slowly changing dimensions and point‑in‑time reporting.
• Implement data quality checks, investigate and resolve issues in partnership with Integration and Platform teams.
• Write efficient SQL, optimise Snowflake performance and align data structures with secure consumption patterns.
• Collaborate with Data Integration Engineers (source systems such as Workday) and Data Platform Engineers to ensure proper ingestion, schema alignment and access models.
• Translate People Analytics and HR business requirements into standardized workforce metrics and enable self‑service analytics.
• Support CI/CD workflows using Azure DevOps/GitHub and maintain documentation for models and logic.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering.
• Strong SQL skills including advanced transformations and performance tuning.
• Hands‑on experience with data transformation frameworks such as Coalesce.io or dbt.
• Experience building and maintaining analytics‑ready data models on cloud platforms, preferably Snowflake.
• Solid understanding of data modeling concepts (dimensional modeling, SCDs, effective‑dated data).
