Purchasing Supervisor

About the role

The Purchasing Supervisor leads the daily operations of the purchasing team, ensuring timely and cost‑effective procurement of materials, components, and services needed to support production and business goals. This position collaborates closely with planning, manufacturing, engineering, quality, logistics, and finance to maintain uninterrupted material flow.

Key responsibilities

• Team Leadership – supervise, coach, and develop buyers and purchasing specialists, set objectives, monitor KPIs, and conduct regular performance reviews.
• Procurement Operations – guarantee material availability, monitor purchase orders, confirmations, deliveries, and address critical shortages.
• Inventory & Cost Management – support inventory optimization while meeting service level targets and balance demand with supply.
• Continuous Improvement – standardize purchasing processes, lead root‑cause analyses for shortages, and drive ERP and automation initiatives.
• Reporting – track and report KPIs such as supplier on‑time delivery, material availability, PO confirmation rate, inventory levels, lead times, expedite costs, and cost savings.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of purchasing or supply‑chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Previous experience leading or supervising a purchasing team (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (Oracle, SAP, or equivalent).
• Excellent analytical, negotiation and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
