Plant Manager (Werksleiter:in) – Largest European Site

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead our client’s largest European production site, employing over 700 staff. The role combines operational oversight with strategic development to ensure efficient, high‑quality manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Overall operational and strategic management of the plant, covering Production, Production Preparation, Logistics, Quality Assurance and Technical Services.
• Lead four direct reports: Heads of Quality Assurance, Logistics, Manufacturing Engineering and Human Resources.
• Align production planning with sales forecasts, budgets, material inventory, equipment capacity and workforce.
• Report production status to senior management and drive continuous efficiency improvements.
• Coordinate international projects, manage major budgets (> €1 M) and oversee knowledge‑management systems.
• Ensure compliance with ISO/TS 16949, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and local regulations, fostering a safe work environment.
• Oversee maintenance, preventive programs and facility upkeep.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field, preferably Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of line‑management experience in a high‑volume production environment, preferably automotive.
• Proven project leadership at an international level and strong analytical abilities.
• Fluent German and English (minimum B2).

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Experience with SAP (advantage).
• Knowledge of ISO/TS 16949, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards.
• Familiarity with VDA 6.3 process auditing (advantage).
