Plant Business Development & Engineering (BD&E) Manager

About the role

Mondelēz International is looking for a Plant Business Development & Engineering (BD&E) Manager in Bratislava. The role develops and executes projects that drive business growth, innovation and efficiency, supports the continuous improvement of investment and commercialisation processes, and manages the plant's BDE team of project leaders and engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute the plant's full CAPEX agenda, including new product development, reformulation, productivity, quality improvement and brand maintenance projects, in line with the Plant Roadmaps and Masterplans.
• Lead project development and execution, including technical assessments, capability studies and capital execution, following I2M/IIM tools and practices.
• Prepare site AR write-ups and critical inputs for Regional BD design reviews (DR2-DR6), lead verification (DR7) and plant activities from design review 4 onwards.
• Act as the source of internal and external information with commercial, category and engineering stakeholders, and lead site post-project evaluation.
• Support the site strategic plan and annual contract, partner with Product Supply on sourcing and capacity expansion, and help build the site CAPEX budget and spend plan.
• Manage ongoing business, including reprioritisation, de-complexity and productivity improvement, and ensure regional and global menu cards are delivered and manufacturing hurdle rates are met.
• Deliver assigned financial targets for capital projects, trials and start-up expenses, and lead resource and funding prioritisation.
• Lead productivity projects, run technical reviews, identify E&E opportunities and develop standards with regional and global engineering.
• Lead, coach and build the capability of the BDE team, and manage its resources against business and consumer needs.
• Ensure compliance with applicable legislation, internal HSE and QA policies (food safety FSSC 22000), LOTO, work, cleaning and maintenance instructions, and the Capex Finance Policy.

Required profile

• University education (Master's degree), engineering or a related discipline preferred.
• Solid technical background from food, pharmaceutical or a relevant industry.
• Inclusive leader driving cross-functional projects.
• Proven people management, leadership, coaching and motivation skills.
• Communicative English (C2 level).
• Flexibility, strong data analytics and presentation skills, and strong stakeholder communication across geographies.
