Operational Performance Improvement Lead

About the role

Swiss Re is looking for an Operational Performance Improvement Lead in Bratislava. You will take ownership of L&H Re's most important cross-functional operational performance challenges, spanning functions and organisational boundaries and going beyond what normal business ownership can deliver. You will establish the fact base, identify root causes, align stakeholders and drive implementation to measurable, sustainable improvement, then hand back clear ownership.

The role sits in the Data & Operational Excellence team, which links Operational Architecture, Operational Analytics & Intelligence and Operational Performance Improvement, and works alongside Enablement Leads supporting Market Units.

Key responsibilities

• Lead improvement interventions from diagnosis through to delivery and embedded change
• Solve cross-functional problems, clarifying accountabilities and resolving root causes across process, data, governance and technology
• Translate findings into improvements to ways of working, operating models, controls or data, with clear ongoing ownership
• Define success criteria, track outcomes and ensure improvements are embedded and self-sustaining
• Help prioritise interventions, identify recurring themes and share progress and blockers with leadership

Required profile

• Experienced improvement or transformation professional who brings structure to ambiguity and influences across organisational boundaries
• Proven ability to drive complex, cross-functional interventions to measurable, lasting results
• Ability to use quantitative and qualitative data to build a fact base, identify performance drivers and measure impact
• Ability to structure ambiguous problems, find root causes and turn findings into clear, executable actions

Nice to have

• Experience in operational improvement, transformation or business consulting
• Understanding of insurance or reinsurance operations, ideally Life & Health Reinsurance
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives in a global organisation
• Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma or other structured improvement methodologies
• Experience with data-, technology- or AI-enabled improvements, Client Data Management or the L&H treaty lifecycle

What we offer

• Base salary in Slovakia of 2,100 to 3,400 EUR per month for a full-time role, depending on profile and scope
