Lead Software Engineer – Python

About the role

Join Cat Digital, the technology arm of Caterpillar, as a Lead Software Engineer focused on Python‑based AI solutions. You will work in an agile environment, collaborating with engineers in Slovakia and the United States to deliver high‑impact, production‑grade services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy Generative AI solutions using Python, OOP principles and frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, Semantic Kernel and Crew.ai.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and deploy services on AWS using CloudFormation.
• Build and expose FastAPI services on AWS, and refactor analytics solutions for scalability.
• Assist in creating AI pipelines with Apache Airflow and guide junior engineers through mentorship and project leadership.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, ensuring alignment with product requirements and technical standards.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of software development tools, life‑cycle processes and ability to deliver software products that meet defined requirements.
• Experience designing and building applications in Python (or GoLang) with solid OOP fundamentals.
• Proven ability to work in medium to large, cross‑functional teams and communicate technical concepts effectively.
