HR Officer

About the role

We are looking for a proactive, organized and people‑oriented HR professional to join our Europe, Middle East and Africa (EME) Area Office in Bratislava. The HR Officer will manage end‑to‑end recruitment, support the employee lifecycle and ensure smooth HR administration for an international mission‑driven organization.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full recruitment cycle: create ads, source candidates, screen applications, conduct interviews and coordinate onboarding.
• Administer all phases of the employee lifecycle, including new‑hire paperwork, record maintenance and processing employee changes.
• Handle absence management, track leave requests and communicate policy information.
• Provide comprehensive HR administration support, ensuring compliance with company policies and local employment law.
• Assist with payroll inputs and employee expense reimbursements.
• Contribute to health and safety policy development and implementation.
• Respond to employee inquiries on HR policies, benefits and procedures.
• Support event logistics, visa applications and other ad‑hoc tasks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Economics, Administration, Public Policy or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of HR experience, preferably in a generalist role.
• Fluent in Slovak and English.
• Strong administrative abilities and attention to detail.
• Proactive, independent work style with good prioritisation skills.
• Cross‑cultural sensitivity and excellent communication skills.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office (MS Office) proficiency.
• Experience with an HR Information System (HRIS) – preferred.
