Data Operations & Intelligence Engineer

About the role

Join Lenovo’s Solutions Services Group as a Data Operations & Intelligence Engineer, reporting to the APOS HQ Sr. Data Manager. You will shape the business data ecosystem, turning complex data into actionable insights that drive strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Explore, analyze and validate data from Hadoop‑based and other upstream environments to uncover insights.
• Design, develop and continuously improve ETL processes that power the APOS curated business data model.
• Investigate complex data issues, perform root‑cause analysis and resolve inconsistencies across teams.
• Transform and integrate data from multiple, often incomplete, sources into reliable, business‑ready solutions.
• Optimize SQL queries, ETL logic and data transformations for performance and scalability.
• Define, monitor and enhance data quality, coverage, reliability and governance measures.

Required profile

• Strong SQL skills for extracting, transforming and optimizing complex datasets.
• Experience in data engineering, analytics engineering or related data‑focused roles.
• Comfortable working independently in exploratory environments where requirements evolve.
• Hands‑on experience with Hadoop‑based ecosystems and distributed query technologies (Spark SQL, Trino, Hive SQL).
• Proven ability to design, build and optimise ETL pipelines at scale.
• Knowledge of data‑quality frameworks and validation methodologies.
