Compliance Officer – Sanctions Risk Framework Owner

About the role

As the Sanctions Risk Framework Owner you will lead Swiss Re’s global sanctions compliance strategy. You will design, maintain and continuously improve the sanctions risk framework, translating regulatory developments into practical business controls.

Key responsibilities

• Own and enhance the global Sanctions Risk Framework, including policies, standards and processes.
• Monitor sanctions developments, assess business impact and coordinate company‑wide responses.
• Provide expert advisory support to senior stakeholders and develop consistent guidance.
• Drive implementation and effectiveness of sanction screening tools and related controls.
• Lead training programmes and build sanctions expertise across the Compliance team.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of compliance processes within the broader financial‑crime risk strategy.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of compliance experience focused on sanctions, preferably in the insurance sector.
• Deep knowledge of financial, economic and trade sanctions regimes.
• Proven ability to translate sanctions developments into business‑impact assessments and risk responses.
• Experience drafting policies, standards and maintaining a compliance risk framework.
• University degree with fluency in English; legal training is a plus.
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills across all seniority levels.
