Business Development Manager – Air & Sea Freight

About the role

We are launching freight forwarding activities in Slovakia and need a commercially driven Business Development Manager to build our customer base, help set up a local office, and support team growth. The role focuses on acquiring and managing air and sea freight business for Slovak and Hungarian importers and exporters.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new business with Slovak and Hungarian companies, turning leads into active customers.
• Manage the full sales cycle from RFQ generation to quotation, negotiation, and closing.
• Collaborate with our Dubai pricing and operations team to prepare competitive offers.
• Maintain relationships with local and international subcontractors and agents.
• Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and report on new customers, shipments, revenue, and gross profit.
• Act as the designated responsible representative for Slovak freight forwarding activity and help establish the local office.

Required profile

• Formal qualification in logistics, transport or freight forwarding meeting Slovak “zasielateľstvo” requirements.
• Eligibility and willingness to act as the “zodpovedný zástupca” for Slovak freight forwarding.
• Proven experience in freight forwarding sales, especially air or sea freight.
• Professional working proficiency in Slovak and English; Hungarian is a plus.
• Existing network of Slovak or Hungarian customers is advantageous.

Required skills

• Knowledge of international freight services, pricing, and Incoterms.
