Audit Specialist – Wholesale Banking Corporate Audit Services

About the role

ING’s Corporate Audit Services (CAS) is seeking an experienced Audit Specialist to provide independent assurance across wholesale banking processes in the CEE region. You will work in an international team, leading audit assignments and collaborating with stakeholders across multiple countries.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate audit assignments from planning through reporting and follow‑up.
• Perform risk assessments and develop risk‑based audit work programmes.
• Assess design and operating effectiveness of key controls and evaluate compliance with laws, regulations and internal policies.
• Conduct audit interviews, facilitate meetings and identify control deficiencies.
• Prepare clear audit reports, management communications and present findings to senior management.
• Provide practical recommendations to improve governance, risk management and operational effectiveness.
• Perform first‑level review of audit work to ensure quality and sufficient evidence.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an auditor in wholesale banking or financial services.
• Strong understanding of credit risk, payment processing, treasury, AML, compliance and operational risk.
• Ability to work autonomously and lead multi‑country audit engagements.
• Willingness to travel approximately 4–6 weeks per year.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with senior stakeholders.
