Audit Specialist (Wholesale Banking Corporate Audit)

About the role

ING Corporate Audit Services (CAS) is looking for an Audit Specialist III in Bratislava to join its international internal audit team covering Wholesale Banking across the CEE region. The role leads audit assignments with a high degree of autonomy, working with stakeholders across several countries and functions, with about 4-6 weeks of travel per year.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate audit assignments through planning, fieldwork, reporting and issue follow-up
• Perform risk assessments and develop risk-based audit work programmes
• Evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of key controls and assess compliance with laws, regulations and banking standards
• Conduct interviews, run opening, progress and closing meetings, and prepare audit reports and management communications
• Identify control deficiencies, assess risks and propose recommendations to improve governance, risk management and control frameworks
• Review audit work for quality, communicate results to senior management, and coach junior auditors

Required profile

• Extensive experience in internal audit, wholesale banking, risk management, lending or a related financial services environment
• Strong knowledge of wholesale banking products, services and risks; ability to lead complex assignments and engage with senior stakeholders
• University degree (Master's preferred, ideally in Economics, Finance or a related field)
• Professional certification such as CIA, ACCA, CISA, CFA or equivalent (preferred)
• At least 6 years of internal audit experience in wholesale banking, or 8 years combined in wholesale banking, risk management, lending, Big 4 or internal audit
• Fluent English and Slovak (C1 or higher)
