Area Manager of Operations – Slovak Clinics

About the role

Fresenius Medical Care is looking for an Area Manager of Operations for its clinics in Slovakia. The role covers the operational management of 13 clinics across Central and Eastern Slovakia and is based in the Žilina region, with frequent travel to the clinics about two to three days per week. It is a home-based position combining hands-on operational coordination with analytical and financial responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the 13 clinics and visit them regularly to understand local needs and agree on practical solutions.
• Build trusted relationships with clinic medical directors, department heads and other senior healthcare professionals, and communicate business priorities clearly.
• Analyse operational and financial data, set performance objectives, prepare reports and recommend improvements.
• Develop and manage budgets, monitor expenditure and review financial performance.
• Contribute to strategic planning, coordinate improvement initiatives and ensure follow-through on priorities.
• Support compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards, and identify and mitigate operational risks.
• Collaborate with local and international business leaders and corporate functions, and use English regularly; engage with external providers, suppliers and authorities as needed.

Required profile

• Master's degree in General Management, Finance, Healthcare Management or a related field.
• At least five years of experience managing operations, resources or complex cross-functional activities.
• Preferred: experience in a healthcare provider or the pharmaceutical industry.
• Proven experience working regularly with senior physicians, medical directors or heads of hospital departments.
• Willingness and ability to travel across Central and Eastern Slovakia about two to three days per week.

Salary starts from €3,000 gross per month.
