Application Security Engineer (Mid‑level)

About the role

AgileEngine is seeking a Mid‑level Application Security Engineer to join its large‑scale financial services security program. You will work hands‑on with DevSecOps, integrating security gates into CI/CD pipelines and guiding development teams on secure coding practices.

Key responsibilities

• Write and maintain Python scripts to embed SAST, DAST and SCA checks into CI/CD pipelines.
• Fine‑tune scanning tools to reduce false positives and deliver high‑confidence alerts.
• Develop and deploy automated hardened baselines and secure coding patterns.
• Collaborate with Java and Python development teams to provide code‑level remediation guidance.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of combined software engineering and application security experience.
• Strong ability to work independently and deliver complex scripting and integration tasks.
• Upper‑intermediate English proficiency.

Required skills

• Python programming for automation and scripting.
• Experience with CI/CD orchestration tools.
• Knowledge of SAST, DAST and SCA security scanning tools.
• Familiarity with vulnerability scoring frameworks.
