AI / Data Science Engineer I – Remote (Slovakia)

About the role

Medtronic is seeking an early‑career AI / Data Science Engineer to create practical AI solutions that boost productivity across clinical and regulatory operations. The role blends hands‑on development with innovation, allowing you to work with enterprise AI technologies while making a measurable impact on healthcare teams. This is a remote position based in Slovakia.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop AI‑driven productivity solutions using OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, CustomGPTs, Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, Power Automate and Power Apps.
• Build and maintain desktop and hosted AI applications that improve operational efficiency across clinical and regulatory teams.
• Support a community of citizen developers by providing guidance, troubleshooting, reusable templates and participating in chatbot working groups.
• Contribute to internal standards, templates and governance for AI‑enabled solutions, ensuring compliance with data‑privacy, security and responsible AI policies.
• Assess emerging technologies, manage a backlog of hyper‑automation workflows and report ROI of AI‑supported processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence or a related technical discipline.
• 2–3 years of professional experience in software development, data science, automation or AI‑related roles.
• Hands‑on experience with modern enterprise AI platforms such as OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, CustomGPTs or Microsoft Copilot.
• Strong problem‑solving, analytical abilities and excellent written and spoken English.
