Accounts Payable Accountant (Hybrid)

About the role

Swiss Re is looking for an Accounts Payable Accountant in Bratislava, working in a hybrid setting. You will join a global finance team supporting Swiss Re entities worldwide, beyond invoice processing and payments, gaining exposure to accounting, reconciliations, stakeholder management and process improvement. The role covers accounts payable, financial controls, closing activities and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Perform a four-eyes review of supplier invoices and verify accuracy before payment
• Ensure invoices are processed in line with internal policies and accounting standards
• Handle internal and external queries on invoice status, payment timing and discrepancies
• Support month-end and quarter-end closing activities
• Reconcile assigned balance sheet and control accounts regularly
• Collaborate with colleagues across Finance Operations and business functions, share knowledge and support onboarding of new colleagues
• Contribute to process improvements, automation initiatives and operational excellence projects
• Carry out other role-related tasks assigned by the Team Leader

Required profile

• 1-3 years of experience in Accounts Payable, PTP (procure-to-pay), accounting operations or a similar finance environment
• Good understanding of basic accounting principles, including debit and credit concepts
• Experience with supplier invoices, payments, reconciliations or vendor-related queries
• Business-level English (B2 or higher), written and spoken
• Strong attention to detail, good communication and stakeholder management skills, and a proactive attitude

Required skills

• Intermediate MS Excel is an advantage
• Experience with ERP or invoice-processing systems is a plus
