Local Data Protection Officer (m/f/d)

About the role

The Data Protection Officer will advise on compliance with data privacy regulations, develop local privacy procedures, and support the organisation in managing data subject rights and privacy incidents. The role is based at the local entity and works closely with business units, suppliers and the supervisory authority.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with existing privacy policies and develop new procedures to protect confidential data.
• Provide privacy advice, review supplier and customer contracts, and handle data‑subject enquiries (e.g., withdrawal of consent, right to be forgotten).
• Consult on personal data incidents, manage breach notifications, and coordinate remedial actions.
• Plan, launch and monitor local data‑privacy training programmes and awareness campaigns.
• Conduct privacy assessments, including Data Register and Privacy Impact Assessments.
• Implement the Allianz Technology Data Privacy Control Framework at the local level.
• Report to senior management and represent the entity before the local Data Privacy Supervisory Authority.

Required profile

• Proven experience in data privacy and compliance, with solid knowledge of GDPR and its corporate application.
• Strong understanding of privacy impact assessments, risk management and mitigation.
• Experience creating and implementing privacy policies, procedures and control frameworks, preferably in a multinational or financial‑services environment.
• Excellent advisory and stakeholder‑management skills, able to deliver clear guidance to business teams and external authorities.
• Strong communication and training abilities, with a track record of designing privacy awareness programmes.
• Capability to manage data‑subject requests and personal‑data incidents end‑to‑end, including regulatory reporting.
