Field Service Engineer – DCS Systems

About the role

We are looking for a Field Service Engineer to support the migration, upgrade and maintenance of Honeywell DCS, SCADA, PLC and safety systems in industrial environments. The role involves on‑site and remote troubleshooting, configuration and continuous improvement of automation platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Provide field service and support for Honeywell DCS (e.g., Experion PKS), SCADA, PLC and SIS/ESD platforms in live production environments.
• Execute preventive and corrective maintenance, including health checks, backups, firmware/patch management and incident resolution (remote or on‑site).
• Support system expansions, software upgrades, controller migrations and site cut‑overs with testing and rollback planning.
• Implement control strategies, graphics/HMI, alarm management, historian/data collection and basic integration with field devices and networks.
• Apply cybersecurity hygiene: security baselines, hardening, patching, access management, backup/restore procedures aligned to OT standards.
• Maintain service records, test plans, MOCs and ensure compliance with safety, quality and regulatory requirements.
• Engage with customers, provide clear communication, training and post‑service reports; escalate issues as needed.
• Lead complex brownfield/greenfield DCS projects, multi‑system integrations and lifecycle modernization programs.
• Guide safety lifecycle work (IEC 61511), FAT/SAT, proof testing, cause‑and‑effect verification and shutdown logic reviews.
• Resolve systemic issues involving networks, controllers, failover, performance bottlenecks and intermittent faults under time pressure.
• Produce functional specifications, control narratives, alarm rationalisation, cybersecurity assessments and migration roadmaps.
• Coach junior engineers, review deliverables, define best practices and ensure project risk management and compliance.

Required profile

• Proven experience in industrial automation with delivery on Honeywell DCS platforms (Experion PKS, C300, ACE nodes) and related SCADA/PLC systems.
• Solid background with SIS/ESD systems (e.g., Honeywell Safety Manager) and safety lifecycle practices (IEC 61511).
• Proficiency in control strategy implementation, HMI design, alarm management and historian/data integration.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in networked control environments and ability to work under pressure.
• Experience producing functional specifications, control narratives, migration plans and cybersecurity assessments.
• Ability to mentor junior staff and ensure compliance with project and safety standards.
