Enterprise Architect Enablement and Governance

About the role

Swiss Re is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to join its Group Enterprise Architecture function. In this high‑impact individual contributor role you will shape how architecture supports business strategy, innovation and operational excellence across the company’s global operations.

Key responsibilities

• Define and evolve enterprise architecture frameworks, principles, standards and guardrails to enable consistent, scalable delivery.
• Translate business strategy into target architectures, roadmaps and transition plans across business, application, data and technology domains.
• Establish reusable patterns, reference architectures and best practices, including for AI/GenAI adoption.
• Drive standardisation, simplification and reuse to improve efficiency and sustainability.
• Participate in architecture governance and Design Authority forums, ensuring transparent decision‑making and compliance with security, regulatory and risk requirements.
• Provide oversight for major transformation initiatives, ensuring solutions align with target architectures and strategic direction.
• Support delivery teams with clear guidance, pragmatic guardrails and decision support throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Collaborate with Domain Architects to resolve cross‑domain dependencies and maintain enterprise‑wide alignment.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an Enterprise Architect within a large, complex organisation.
• Strategic thinker who can translate business objectives into architectural solutions.
• Strong understanding of governance processes and design authority practices.
• Ability to influence and collaborate with global delivery teams and domain experts.
• Experience with AI/GenAI adoption and large‑scale application modernisation is a plus.
