About the role

We are looking for an experienced and autonomous EMEA Trade Compliance Manager to lead and coordinate trade compliance activities across our European operations. You will ensure regulatory alignment, minimise import/export risks and accelerate time‑to‑market for new products.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a Europe‑wide trade compliance strategy, policies and procedures.
  • Advise on HS classification, preferential origin and duty optimisation, and audit classification databases.
  • Monitor export controls, sanctions, restricted‑party screening and manage licences.
  • Oversee customs compliance, documentation, reporting and clearance optimisation.
  • Identify, assess and mitigate trade compliance risks; lead internal and external audits.
  • Design and deliver training programmes and promote a compliance culture.
  • Act as main liaison with customs authorities, trade associations and external consultants.
  • Establish metrics, dashboards and lead digitisation of compliance processes.
  • Directly lead and mentor one direct report.

Required profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, International Trade, Supply Chain, Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 5+ years progressive experience in trade compliance, customs or regulatory affairs focused on Europe.
  • Relevant certifications such as CTP or CTCM are highly advantageous.

Required skills

  • Deep knowledge of EU Customs Code, import/export controls, sanctions and dual‑use regulations.
  • Expertise in HS classification, tariff engineering and preferential origin rules.
  • Experience with export licence administration, denied‑party screening and end‑use checks.
  • Proficiency in import/export documentation and customs clearance processes.
  • Strong risk analysis, internal audit and remediation planning capabilities.
  • Hands‑on experience with trade compliance software, ERP integration, advanced Excel and data‑visualisation tools.
