Data Analyst – Predictive Modeling (Central Europe)

About the role

You will join a professional team that builds predictive models for daily sales, promotional impact, weather effects and other supply‑chain forecasts. The role works with diverse data sources such as SQL databases, text files and Hadoop, and collaborates with colleagues across Central Europe, the United Kingdom and India.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Central Europe operations team with comprehensive data analysis to improve supply‑chain KPI measurements.
• Utilise modern database technologies, including Teradata and Hadoop, for data extraction and processing.
• Create documentation and presentations that help stakeholders understand business processes and system functionalities.
• Work together with UK and India teams on the development and implementation of forecasting models.
• Manage micro‑projects and ensure timely delivery of analytical deliverables.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of relevant experience.
• Education in mathematics, computer science, data science, logistics or a related field.
• Intermediate proficiency in English.
• Strong mathematical and logical thinking, good presentation and communication skills, attention to detail and a willingness to learn new data‑science approaches.

Required skills

• SQL, MS Access, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of Python, Matlab, R or Scala (preferred).
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git/GitHub.
• Understanding of the Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, Hive, Spark).
• Basic principles of Machine Learning (train/test split, data validation, simple models).
