Safety Scientist – Real World Evidence (RWE)

About the role

We are seeking a Safety Scientist III to lead signal detection and product safety activities across the EMEA region. You will coordinate data‑driven safety strategies, mentor junior colleagues, and help shape innovative processes and tools that protect patients.

Key responsibilities

• Support safety data generation, assessment and communication strategies through regular interaction with Safety Evidence Leads and global stakeholders.
• Synthesize multi‑source data into actionable insights that demonstrate product value and support differentiation.
• Monitor the competitive landscape for new safety information and contribute to competitive intelligence.
• Collaborate with Biostatistics and Digital Technology to build and maintain safety evidence dashboards and platforms.
• Identify and pilot innovative approaches, including AI/ML and automation, to enhance safety analytics.
• Conduct routine data‑mining to uncover gaps, ensure reproducibility via version‑controlled workflows, and document all analyses.
• Assist in designing, executing, and reporting pharmaco‑epidemiologic studies addressing specific safety questions.
• Participate in internal and external meetings for training, competitor intelligence, and KOL collaboration.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience analyzing safety data in a pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare environment.
• Hands‑on experience with safety databases (e.g., Argus Safety); experience with large healthcare datasets such as EHR, claims, or registries is a plus.
• Degree in Data Science, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, or a related quantitative field.

Required skills

• Proficiency in data extraction from Argus Safety.
• Strong data‑mining and analytical capabilities.
• Experience with AI/machine learning, GenAI, Copilot, and automation tools.
• Version‑control and workflow documentation skills.
• Knowledge of pharmaco‑epidemiologic study design and execution.
