Principal Software Engineer

About the role

Vix Technology is looking for a Principal Software Engineer to lead the development of mission‑critical software that powers public transportation systems worldwide. You will work with a global, cross‑functional team to create secure, scalable, and reusable solutions that improve the passenger experience.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain secure, scalable software applications that meet customer requirements.
• Support the architecture of complex systems with a focus on long‑term quality, scalability and maintainability.
• Take deep ownership of the codebase, raise engineering standards and act as a trusted technical source for the team.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning and reviews.
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and technical coaching.
• Serve as a technical escalation point to investigate and resolve production incidents.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly across diverse teams and provide constructive feedback.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of software engineering experience, including at least 3 years in a tech‑lead or principal role.
• Extensive experience with C#.NET, Git, Docker and modern development tooling.
• Proven ability to build and integrate RESTful APIs and event‑driven architectures.
• Experience with relational (PostgreSQL) and non‑relational (DynamoDB) databases.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
