Head of Office

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Head of Office to lead its operations in Slovakia. Reporting to the Sub‑Regional Director, the incumbent will oversee programme delivery, donor relations, and staff management while ensuring alignment with IOM’s regional strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day operations of IOM Slovakia, including programme implementation and donor liaison.
• Lead and supervise a multidisciplinary team in a complex, field‑based humanitarian environment.
• Maintain regular communication with the Slovak Government on IOM activities, emergencies, and policy developments.
• Provide timely updates to the Sub‑Regional Office and Headquarters on programme progress and emerging issues.
• Develop and promote IOM’s strategic objectives within the national and regional context.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Business Administration, Law or a related field with at least five years of relevant professional experience, OR a university degree with seven years of experience.
• Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams in complex operational or humanitarian settings.
• Experience designing and implementing programmes in migration or related fields.
