Global Category Manager – Electrical, Instrumentation & Flow Items

About the role

As a Global Strategic Purchaser you will own and drive the sourcing strategy for Alfa Laval’s Electrical, Instrumentation & Flow Items sub‑commodity group, managing an annual spend of €50‑70 million. You will work closely with global suppliers, factories, R&D, product management and purchasing teams to maximise value, ensure competitiveness and mitigate supply risk.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the global sourcing strategy for the assigned sub‑commodity group.
• Optimise the supplier base and supply chain to improve cost, quality, delivery and resilience.
• Lead international negotiations and secure commercial agreements and contract coverage.
• Drive supplier performance, consolidation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Partner with R&D and product management on sourcing for new product development.
• Manage sourcing activities during supply disruptions, quality issues or other supplier‑related crises.
• Collaborate with factories, distribution centres, product centres and local/global purchasing teams.
• Ensure supplier compliance with sustainability, regulatory and business requirements.
• Identify and drive opportunities for digitalisation, sustainability and continuous improvement.
