Buyer (English) – Maternity Leave Replacement

About the role

Covestro is looking for an English‑speaking Buyer to cover a maternity leave. You will be responsible for day‑to‑day procurement operations, ensuring a secure supply of raw materials and supporting the internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Process purchase requisitions and release purchase orders in SAP according to OSP.
• Track purchase orders and deliveries to guarantee supply security.
• Maintain documentation in SAP, including import licences and end‑use certificates.
• Resolve availability issues in coordination with requisitioners and planners.
• Coordinate delivery and quality non‑conformities with plant stakeholders.
• Support root‑cause analysis of procurement issues and follow‑up on planning and quality.
• Manage operational supplier performance (OTIF) and handle major supply complaints.
• Assist with ad‑hoc requests and other tasks as directed by superiors.

Required profile

• Degree in a business or technical field.
• 2–3 years of experience in procurement operations, preferably in a service‑center environment.
• Basic knowledge of SAP and other IT tools.
• Self‑disciplined, able to work independently under pressure.
• Team‑player with strong communication skills and service orientation.
• Business‑level English; German is a plus.
